Overview[]

While killing monsters in any zone, you may come across monsters that have special titles next to their name. Kill them for an increased reward or potential for a random chance at a drop! Be careful though, a lot of them are tougher than their regular counterparts, and some will outright kill you with no way to defend yourself!

Finding Specials[]

The base chance to discover a special monster upon every new fight is 1/250. These odds can be improved through Accessories or Clan Tracker Academy. Anything designated with +Special Monsters indicates this buff, which includes Circlet of the Savant, Circlet of Knowledge, Circlet of the King, and Circlet of the Gods.

Special List[]

There are currently 33 special monsters in the game, which can be found in any zone with a few exceptions:

  • Special Monsters are disabled until you are Level 25+
  • Due to Conquests, the Open Water and Shadow Forest zones do not contain the following specials: Wraith, Champion, Glutton, Warlock, Executioner, Overlord, Guardian, Scoundrel, Maniac, Spectre, Colossus, Harlot, or Reaper.

There are 5 tiers associated with special monsters, with each Tier weighted so you find them less often. Your clan tracker academy can help normalize higher tier special monsters to become more common, along with certain professions as well.

Tier 1[]

Tier 1 specials have a normal rate of appearing when you fight a new monster.

Elder 1x 2x 1x 40% Double Hit N/A N/A Increases chance of a mastery by 700% Elders are rather harmless. You wouldn't kill an elder, would you?
Fool 1x 0x 2x -1 Armor Class -1 Spell Class -1 Weapon Class None Fools are the jesters of society. They are quite a bit weaker than a normal mob and best to just ignore them.
Glutton 1x 0x 0x N/A N/A N/A Gives no Exp or Gold Gluttons eat up everything around them. You get nothing out of killing one. Some curse the creator for making them.
Harlot 1x 5x 1x N/A N/A N/A -2 Alignment How bad do you want more gold? Are you willing to kill for it? Who is the real monster?
Merchant 1x 12x 1x N/A N/A N/A None A monster with a bunch of gold on them? Kill them! KILL THEM NOW!!
Mimic 2x 2x 1x 20% Double Hit N/A N/A 4x Drop Chance

He has a very strange trick in his sleeve he shows only seldomly

Mimics try to copy your characters strength and beats you with your own power. Be careful handling one.
Saint 1x 1x 2x N/A N/A N/A -1 Alignment Saints are good monsters. You wouldn't strike down a holy monster, would you?
Scoundrel 1x 1x 1x +70% Double Hit N/A N/A +2 Alignment Dregs of the monster world. Kill them at all costs!
Trainer 2x 1x 2x +30% Double Hit N/A N/A None These monster types seem to want you to get stronger while also trying to kill you.
Undead 1x 2x 1x N/A N/A N/A +1 Alignment The only good undead monster is a dead undead monster.

Mob Enhancements:

  • Double Hit means they have a chance to hit you more times than normal
  • Alignment will adjust the alignment number for your character, to signal you being good or evil based. More information can be found on the Alignment page.

Tier 2[]

Tier 2 specials are 2x harder to find when you fight a new monster. Illusionists is excluded from quests.

Fanatic 3x 1x 2x +2 Armor Class +2 Spell Class +2 Weapon Class None Fanatics are a very strong monster variant, who will wipe the floor with you if you are unprepared.
Hero 3x 3x 3x +3 Armor Class +1 Spell Class +1 Weapon Class -3 Alignment This monster thinks you're the villain. He is as strong as a Fanatic but focuses on more armor.
Illusionist 1x 2x 2x N/A N/A N/A Teleports you to a random location in the zone This magical variant will change your location to confuse you if you best them.
King 1x 3x 2x N/A N/A N/A 4x Drop Chance A false king or an actual king? Seems like a pushover, but usually has loot on them!
Spectre 2x 2x 2x +1 Weapon Class +1 Spell Class -1 Armor Class None First a zombie, now a phantom!? Kill it with fire!
Veteran 2x 2x 4x +1 Armor Class +1 Spell Class +1 Weapon Class Increases chance of a mastery by 700% A monster who has had his fair share of battles. Be warned, they can be quite dangerous!
Villain 4x 3x 4x +1 Armor Class -1 Spell Class -1 Weapon Class +3 Alignment A monster that is so evil even most other monster types do not want to be around them. They are vicious and will tear you limb from limb if you take them too lightly.
Wizard 2x 2x 3x +3 Spell Class N/A N/A None A monster who has learned how to wield the elements? Take caution before proceeding against them.

Tier 3[]

Tier 3 specials are 4x harder to find when you fight a new monster.

Guardian 2x 2x 3x +1 Weapon Class +1 Spell Class +2 Armor Class -5 Alignment There is a monster village nearby and they focus on protecting their homes from a threat. That threat is you.
Overlord 5x 2x 5x -3 Armor Class N/A N/A +5 Alignment Rumor is whoever runs into an Overlord does not live to tell the tale. You die before even realizing it.
Maniac 2x 2x 2x +2 Weapon Class +2 Spell Class N/A None They are highly unpredictable, so take extreme caution advancing against one. You never know what is up their sleeve.
Warlock 2x 1x 2x +5 Spell Class N/A N/A 5x Drop Chance A wizard that has mastered the dark arts. if you are ill-prepared, you'll be sucked into the depths of hell in the blink of an eye.
Wraith 2x 1x 3x +5 Weapon Class -2 Armor Class N/A Excluded from quests First a zombie, then a phantom, now a ghost!? BURN IT! BURN IT ALL!!

Tier 4[]

Tier 4 specials are 12x harder to find when you fight a new monster. All monsters in this tier are excluded from quests.

Have you ever seen such an enormous monster before? They make a brute look tiny in comparison! Retreating is an option.
Executioner 3x 2x 1x +10 Weapon Class -2 Armor Class +20% Double Hit N/A None You thought an assassin was tough? You won't even see the executioner. they don't care how tough you think you are. One swing and your head is rolling.

Note: These mobs cannot be found through spamming "New Fight". Champion also has a very low chance of dropping a Quest-Only Accessory instead of a shadow.

Tier 5[]

Tier 5 specials are a special rarity and are only found in certain locations or in extremely rare instances when you fight a new monster. All monsters in this tier are excluded from quests.

Master 1x 0x 0x +100 Armor Class Uses Item Class 1 Weapon / Spells Only found in Chellinias Tavern Not much is known about these master variants of monsters. They are extremely weak in power, but next to impossible to kill. They make good punching bags though to sharpen your skills through mastery training.
Reaper ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? Instant Death, but your gold goes to a good cause (Jackpot) If you discover a Reaper, your only option is to run. You will not win. Do you fear the reaper? If you do not, you should. Go ahead, attack him. I dare you!

When death greets you, every player will be notified of your demise. Your free levels and gold (2x'd for Jackpot) is displayed for all to see.
