Overview[]
Throughout fighting monsters in any zone, you have a chance to drop a mastery, which is separate from the tradition drop pool of gem, shadow, purse, clan mine, and also conquest items or a resource drop.
There is a mastery for each class in the game, and an additional one called double hit mastery, which will be explained later.
You can check your mastery limits at 1,0 in Royal University, for a price.
How They Work[]
You can gain masteries from hitting enemies (Weapon/Spell), taking damage (Armor), or hitting multiple times (Double Hit). You have a cap of a certain amount, determined by your Race and Profession.
Starting out, your race will come with a 20 mastery cap in everything with 50 for its primary class and armor.
Training[]
While you can certainly find a tough special monster to train your masteries, the better option is to fight Masters in 0,0 Chellinias Tavern. This is the zone specific to training your masteries - hitting multiple times is very high, enemies cannot die, and they always hit you.
Weapon/Spell Mastery[]
Each weapon or spell mastery increases your STR or NTL as well as your critical chance. A white message will appear when you receive one.
- STR (any weapon-type class) formula is: STR = STR * (1 + (mastery / 100))
- NTL (any spell-type class) formula is: NTL = NTL * (1 + (mastery / 100))
- Critical Chance formula is: random number between 1 and 20 + (mastery / 10)
- It is additionally modified through the use of azurites (if any are equipped) used and bonuses applicable to some classes or professions.
Outside of training, you can receive some double hit masteries through some Conquests.
Armor Mastery[]
Each armor mastery decreases the damage you take from enemies. Every 5 armor masteries equate to +1 Armor Class.

Double Hit Mastery[]
Hitting your enemies multiple times can, in rare instances, reward you with a double hit mastery. This has a cap of 200 automatically, but are very slow to gain.
Outside of training, you can receive some double hit masteries through some Conquests.
Conclusion[]
Masteries are a vital part of ensuring your character is performing in top shape at all times. It is highly recommended to max out your masteries asap. Aside from Conquests, you can also use certain Gems and Accessories to accelerate your chance of obtaining them.
